The third annual Courage Day will take place Thursday, April 11 at Widener. This year, the university will welcome former Air Force fighter pilot Maj. Heather “Lucky” Penney as Widener’s Beideman Visiting Scholar. Penney will speak at 12:30 p.m. on Courage Day in Alumni Auditorium.

Widener to host free public screenings of documentary about drug use among LGBT communities of color

Widener’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies will present two free public screenings of the documentary “parTy boi: Black Diamonds in Ice Castles,” which sheds light on substance use among LGBT communities of color. The screenings will take place on campus on Tuesday, April 16 at 1 p.m. in the University Center Webb Room and on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at Roxy Theater in Philadelphia.

Male Widener students will walk on campus in red high-heeled shoes on Friday, April 12 as part of the Walk-a-Mile in Her Shoes campaign to raise awareness about the seriousness of rape, sexual assault and gender violence.
